Pool Rescue Competition

Pool Rescue competition is a growing sports discipline for Surf Lifesavers run during the off season. Pool Rescue sees competitors’ aquatic skills tested with events including manikin tows, obstacle swims, brick pickups and tube swims carrying patients.

Pool tournaments also encourage athletes who may feel uncomfortable at competing in the ocean to get involved. If you are interested, please contact the Club Captain at surfsports@cottsurf.com.

Surf Belt Race

The Surf Belt race is a traditional and prestigious race in Surf Lifesaving competition. It uses the surf reel, line and belt and is a sprint race to the can. The race starts with the swimmer on the beach, they place the belt around their waist and tow the surf line out to their assigned buoy and signalling their finish. The swimmer is helped by three linesmen and a reel handler.
