Cottesloe SLSC Update

Hi all,

This Friday 16th April at the clubrooms is the Trophy and Award presentations starting at 6:30pm sharp in the Don Morrison Room (upstairs main hall for those newer members). Finger food will be served throughout the evening. If you’ve been consistent in club points races, won a trophy swim, gained a surf education award or performed at the Club Championships, come on down and congratulate those who will be recognised during this past season.

Following this will be the Cottesloe Surf Life Saving Club’s Annual Dinner on Saturday 8th May at 6:30pm, again in the Don Morrison Room. The dress code for the evening will be Formal – Black Tie and the cost will be $60 which includes a fantastic three-course meal and drinks.  Join us on this evening to help celebrate those meritorious achievements of our members and reflect on what was a great season in our Centenary year. Please contact the office on  9383 4400 to arrange payment of tickets and to put in your requests for seating arrangements. (RSVP by Wednesday May 5th)

What did you think of the past season, our 100th year, at the club? We would like to hear your thoughts and suggestions as we wind down after the end of a busy season. We would also like to hear if you are able to help out the club in any way, shape or manner. Interested in working behind the bar? Simon Lalor, our Bar Manager, would love to hear from you. Haven’t got your Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certification? Let us know and we will organise to get a course going. Thinking about competing next season but don’t know where to start? Get in touch with us. We will guide you in the right direction for who to speak to and where to go for training sessions. The gym is lively on Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings and there are various fitness sessions that are being discussed for other times.

The coffee shop is open from 6:45am on the above three mornings as well as Saturday mornings. It is coordinated by Owen Ashby and there are various jovial baristas that are there ready to serve up the perfect coffee. Well … you do get the occasional nuclear surprise but who’s complaining! Friday nights at the bar will continue. Come on down and bring your friends! IRB Courses will be starting in May, details coming soon. There’s plenty happening around the club during the off season. Be sure to inform us as to what you’d like to do or be a part of during the off season or even planning for next season and we’ll see what can be done.

I’ll see you at the club.
