Mitch and Rocky looked promising in the Board Rescue, streaking past Mossie’s team in the heat only to be dq’d.

WASRL State Teams

Four Cottesloe crews will be representing Western Australia in Wollongong (5-7 February). There are only 6 State Teams awarded (on results throughout the Navy Series), and we took two thirds of them.

Open Men: Chargers (Steve L’Huillier, Robbie Alexander, Eamon Murphy, Shane Rho, Jeff Burling)
Under 23 Women: Indiana (Nat Whiteside, Bec Smith, Meg Chute, Ange Coote, Jeff Burling)
Under 23 Men: Des & Troy (Dave Goyder, Dave Castles, Lukas Sibma, Josh Wilke, Jeff Burling)
Under 19*: Rhett Nicholas, Tom Schroeter, Scott Silverthorne, Luke Brunner, Mike Cameron 

Each crew will be supported by the Navy and WASRL through a subsidy for travel to Wollongong. The Interstate Challenge will be held on Friday night, 5 February. in total, Cottesloe is sending over 31 competitors to compete in the carnival that follows the Interstate Challenge.

* Due to exams, only the final two rounds of the Navy Series were taken into consideration for the Under 19s. The boys triumphed over North Cott in the final race to take the selection honours.  

Navy Series Pointscore 

Cottesloe ended up as Champion Club in the Navy Series pointscore (382, vs. North Cott 360 and Scarboro 312).
